FG Opens Free Solar PV Training for Nigerians, Applications End September 18

The Federal Government has opened applications for a free solar photovoltaic (PV) installation training programme designed to equip Nigerians with practical skills needed in the electricity and renewable energy sector.
The programme is being implemented under the Siemens Energy Development Project (SEED), an initiative aimed at developing a pool of certified and industry-ready energy professionals who can support the operation, optimisation and long-term maintenance of critical power infrastructure under the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI).
According to the announcement, the programme will also strengthen local technical capacity and create opportunities for beneficiaries to acquire relevant skills that can improve their employment and career prospects in Nigeria’s growing power sector.
What the training is about
The training is designed to help participants develop practical technical skills relevant to electricity and renewable-energy projects, particularly solar photovoltaic systems.
Participants will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and resources that can position them to contribute to the installation, operation and maintenance of energy infrastructure.
The initiative is also part of efforts to develop local content in Nigeria’s power sector by ensuring that more Nigerians possess the technical capabilities required to support major electricity investments.
Applications are now open
Interested and eligible Nigerians are encouraged to apply for the programme before the closing date.
Application deadline: Friday, September 18, 2026
Applicants are advised to provide accurate information during registration and complete their applications before the deadline.
Why the opportunity matters
With increasing demand for reliable electricity and renewable-energy solutions in Nigeria, skills in solar PV installation and maintenance can provide opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship and further professional development.
For young Nigerians and others seeking technical skills in the electricity sector, the programme offers an opportunity to gain industry-relevant training without paying tuition for the training itself.
Applicants are therefore encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity and submit their applications before September 18, 2026.
Important: Applicants should verify the eligibility requirements and other conditions on the official application form before submitting their applications.
