World football governing body FIFA has released its latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking, the first rankings following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Argentina remains among the world’s elite, while newly crowned world champions Spain have also strengthened their position after lifting the trophy. The latest rankings reflect the outcomes of international matches played since the previous update, with several nations making significant gains and others dropping in the standings. The rankings were officially updated on 20 July 2026, with the next release scheduled for 7 October 2026.
For Africa, Morocco continues to lead the continent, while Senegal and Nigeria remain among Africa’s highest-ranked teams. The Super Eagles occupy 26th place globally, boosting their standing ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
