INEC Opens Recruitment Portal for Ad-hoc Staff Ahead of Osun Governorship Election, Sets July 18 Deadline

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the recruitment of ad-hoc staff for the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply through its dedicated online portal.

The Commission said the application portal opened on June 27, 2026, and will remain accessible until 12:00 midnight on July 18, 2026, urging interested applicants to complete their registration before the deadline.

According to INEC, the recruitment is aimed at engaging competent personnel to support the conduct of the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Applicants can apply for the following roles:

  • Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO)
  • Presiding Officer (PO)
  • Assistant Presiding Officer (APO)
  • Registration Area Centre (RAC) Manager
  • Registration Area Technical Support (RATECH)

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include:

  • Serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members.
  • Former corps members who completed their service within the eligible period specified by INEC.
  • Penultimate-year students of federal tertiary institutions.
  • Federal civil servants and staff of designated government agencies for specified positions.

INEC stressed that applicants must not be members of any political party or publicly identify with one.

INEC advised applicants to print their acknowledgement slip after submission, as it will be required during the verification process.
