SAGAMU, OGUN STATE — The Education Community Development Service (CDS) Group of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State has donated 5,000 exercise books to students in selected public schools as part of efforts to support learning and improve access to educational materials.
The project, themed “Building Minds, Inspiring Futures,” was commissioned during a ceremony attended by the Ogun State NYSC Coordinator, Princess Olayinka Diana Nasamu, who commended the corps members for their commitment to educational development and community service.
The initiative was conceived and executed by corps members serving under the Education CDS Group in Sagamu as a community enhancement project aimed at supporting students and promoting academic excellence.
Speaking at the event, Princess Nasamu described the project as a reflection of the core values and objectives of the NYSC Scheme. She praised the corps members for their teamwork, dedication, and vision, urging them to continue implementing projects that address pressing needs within their host communities.
The exercise books were distributed to students from various public schools across the local government area, with organizers revealing that additional distributions would be carried out in other schools to expand the project’s reach and impact.
Members of the organizing committee attributed the success of the initiative to the collective efforts of corps members, support from sponsors, and meticulous planning that ensured the project’s successful execution.
The event attracted school administrators, community leaders, education stakeholders, corps members, and other invited guests who witnessed the presentation of the educational materials.
Corps members who participated in the project expressed satisfaction with its outcome, noting that the donation would ease the burden on many students and contribute positively to their academic pursuits.
The donation of 5,000 exercise books further adds to the list of community development projects undertaken by NYSC members in Sagamu, underscoring the Scheme’s continued role in promoting grassroots development and supporting education across communities.
