A controversial cleric in Anambra State, identified as Pastor Harrison Charles, has been arrested following allegations that he allegedly took dozens of married women from their husbands and made them his wives.

The pastor, said to be the founder of Day Spring Assembly in Awada, Onitsha, was reportedly arrested by operatives of Agunechemba after a viral video surfaced online containing several accusations against him.
According to reports, some members of the church accused the cleric of compelling congregants to engage in wife-swapping and allegedly taking over the wives of church members. The allegations have triggered widespread reactions across social media and within religious circles in the state.
The Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Media, Dr. Ejimofor Opara, confirmed the arrest in a Facebook post, stating that the suspect had been handed over to the police for investigation.
Opara disclosed that investigators allegedly found about 11 babies in the pastor’s residence during the operation. The cleric reportedly claimed the children belonged to him and were born by 11 of his wives. He also allegedly stated that he could not accurately determine the number of wives or children he had.
Authorities said the investigation is being jointly handled by the Anambra State Government and the Anambra State Police Command, while members of the public with useful information have been urged to assist the probe.
