The appointment of Professor Segun Aina as the next Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has continued to generate reactions across Nigeria’s education sector, particularly among students, academics and policy stakeholders.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu approved Aina’s appointment to succeed the outgoing Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, whose second tenure is expected to end on July 31, 2026.

Aina, a renowned Computer Engineering scholar and technology expert, is expected to officially assume office in August 2026.

The incoming JAMB Registrar earned his academic qualifications in the United Kingdom, including degrees in Computer Systems Engineering, Internet Computing and Digital Signal Processing.
