Reacting to the development, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu described the incident as “barbaric” and directed security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the victims and arrest the perpetrators.
The Presidency also confirmed that tactical and intelligence teams had been deployed to assist the rescue operation following reports that one abducted teacher was allegedly killed by the kidnappers.
Fear Spreads Across Communities
The attack has sparked outrage among residents and parents, many of whom now fear sending their children back to school. Community leaders have called on the federal and state governments to strengthen security around schools and rural communities to prevent further attacks.
Security analysts say the incident reflects the growing spread of school-targeted kidnappings beyond northern Nigeria into parts of the South-West.
