Residents of Ona Ara State Constituency gathered in large numbers on Thursday as Oyo State House of Assembly aspirant, Ismaeel Sodiq Opeyemi, popularly known as ELEGE, held a Town Hall meeting focused on grassroots engagement and community development.

The meeting, held at Cave J Hotel and Suites, Ariyo, Ibadan, created an avenue for residents to interact directly with the aspirant, discuss pressing challenges facing the constituency, and contribute ideas on development priorities for Ona Ara.
A major highlight of the event was the distribution of relief materials, including bags of rice and other food packages, to constituents. The gesture was widely welcomed by attendees, many of whom described it as timely support amid prevailing economic difficulties.
Addressing the gathering, ELEGE emphasized the importance of grassroots participation in governance, noting that sustainable development can only be achieved when the people are actively involved in decision-making processes.
“As we gather today, let us remember that the power of change lies in our hands. Together, we can build a brighter future for our children and ensure that every voice is represented in our government,” he said.
The aspirant further outlined his priorities for Ona Ara Constituency, highlighting education, youth empowerment, healthcare improvement, and infrastructural development as key focus areas.
The town hall meeting ended with an interactive session where residents engaged ELEGE on several community-related issues and proposed initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of people across the constituency.
Supporters at the event described the engagement as a significant step toward promoting inclusive leadership and strengthening grassroots participation ahead of the 2027 elections.
