The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced April 28 to April 30, 2026, as the dates for the next phase of its ongoing police recruitment exercise, with shortlisted candidates set to sit for a nationwide Computer-Based Test (CBT).
The commission disclosed that the aptitude test will be conducted across designated centres nationwide, marking a critical stage in the selection process for prospective recruits into the Nigeria Police Force.

According to the PSC, only candidates who successfully passed the recently concluded physical and credential screening will be eligible to participate in the examination. The screening exercise, which lasted several weeks, formed part of efforts to ensure transparency and merit in the recruitment process.
The commission emphasised that the CBT will assess candidates’ reasoning ability, general knowledge, and aptitude, serving as a key determinant for progression to the final stage of the recruitment.
Applicants have been advised to regularly check the official recruitment portal for details of their examination schedule, including date, time, and venue. They are also required to print their examination slips and come along with necessary identification documents.
The PSC further cautioned candidates against falling victim to fraudsters, stressing that the recruitment process remains strictly merit-based and free of charge.
The ongoing recruitment exercise is part of broader efforts by the Federal Government to strengthen manpower and improve operational efficiency within the Nigeria Police Force.
