The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has announced the commencement of recruitment for 50,000 Police Constables, following the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement on Thursday, PSC spokesperson Torty Njoku said the recruitment drive aims to strengthen community policing, boost internal security and expand the manpower capacity of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to the Commission, the online application portal has been approved for opening to eligible Nigerians who meet the stipulated requirements.
Qualifications
General Duty Cadre
Applicants must possess GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO or equivalent qualification.
A minimum of five (5) credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.
Specialist Cadre
Applicants must hold GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO or equivalent with at least four (4) credits, including English and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience and appropriate Trade Test certification.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must:
Be Nigerian citizens by birth.
Be aged 18–25 years for General Duty; 18–28 years for Specialists.
Be medically, physically and psychologically fit.
Meet minimum height requirements of 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females (General Duty only).
Satisfy other conditions as will be listed on the portal.
Application Window
The recruitment portal will be open from Monday, 15 December 2025, to Sunday, 25 January 2026.

The PSC stressed that the entire process will be transparent and merit-based, warning applicants to avoid fraudsters, as the application is completely FREE.
