Heritage Ajibola: OAU Queries BVER Hostel, as Police Take Over Investigation

Days after the death of a part two student of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Heritage Ajibola, the management of the institution has issued query letter to the owner of the Bver hostel where the late students fell into a soakaway .

The management in a release issued by its Public Relations Officer on Friday which was made available to Vreporters also noted that, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Osun State Command of the Nigerian Police has taken over the investigation to unravel the circumstances that led to her death

Heritage, who resided in one of the PRIVATE HOSTELS, BVER, fell into the septic tank of the hostel through an opening that was allegedly not properly covered.

The release stated categorically that all the hostels in the students village are privately owned and are not under the control of the University.

Abiodun affirmed that the University Management presently has only oversight functions on these private hostels.

Students of the University and other members of the public have since called for thorough investigation and prosecution of the management of the hostel based on what they described as negligence on the part of the owner and those managing the hostel.
