Lost Your JAMB SIM or Email? JAMB Opens New Escape Route for Stranded Candidates

Board unveils Profiled Email Service to help candidates regain access to their JAMB profiles

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new intervention aimed at helping candidates who have lost the SIM cards or email accounts linked to their JAMB profiles.

The new Profiled Email Service provides a structured process through which affected candidates can regain access to profile-related JAMB services without being permanently stranded by the loss of their registered phone number or email access.

Under the arrangement, candidates affected by the problem are required to visit an accredited JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre and request the TEMPL 006 form.

The candidate is expected to provide relevant details, including the JAMB registration number, phone number and profile code where available, as well as a new email address that has never previously been used on the JAMB platform.

After the necessary information is submitted, the accredited CBT centre uploads the details through the authorised JAMB system for verification.

JAMB then sends a verification link or code to the new email address. Once the candidate completes the authentication process, the new address becomes the candidate’s Profiled Email.

The measure is particularly relevant to candidates who have lost the SIM cards originally used for their JAMB registration and are consequently unable to receive messages through the board’s designated short codes.

For candidates who still have access to their registered telephone numbers but need to recover their profile code, JAMB’s existing procedure allows them to send “RESEND” to 55019 or 66019.

The board has also provided a Central Online Support System (COSS) where candidates can submit complaints and track requests for assistance.

JAMB advised candidates experiencing profile or registration difficulties to use official channels and accredited CBT centres when seeking assistance.

The latest intervention is expected to ease the difficulties faced by candidates whose access to JAMB services has been disrupted by the loss of their registered SIM cards or email accounts.
