BREAKING: Nigerian Navy Opens 2026 Recruitment — Applications Begin October 2, See Requirements and Portal
The Nigerian Navy has officially commenced preparations for its 2026 Batch 39 Basic Training School recruitment exercise, opening another opportunity for qualified Nigerians seeking to join the service.
According to the recruitment guidelines, online applications will commence on Friday, October 2, 2026, and close on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
Candidates must also be physically, medically and psychologically fit and must have no previous criminal conviction.
For applicants using O’Level qualifications, the prescribed age range is 18 to 22 years as of December 31, 2026.
Candidates must possess at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, obtained in not more than two sittings.
Applicants with OND, NCE and relevant trade, medical or sporting qualifications will be considered according to the requirements for their respective categories.
Navy Announces Height Requirements
The minimum height requirements are:
- Male applicants: 1.69 metres
- Female applicants: 1.65 metres

The Navy has warned applicants against paying money to individuals or agents promising to secure recruitment slots.
Candidates are also expected to submit only one application, as multiple applications may lead to disqualification.
Documents for Successful Candidates
Candidates who progress in the recruitment exercise will be required to print relevant documents, including the acknowledgement form, parent/guardian consent form, Local Government attestation form and guarantor’s certification form.
