JAMB Introduces New Way to Upload O’Level Results From Home
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new system that allows candidates seeking admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions to verify and upload their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes, eliminating the need to visit a Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre solely for the process.
The development, announced on Monday by JAMB’s Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, is part of the Board’s efforts to make its services easier, faster, safer and more convenient for candidates.
Under the new arrangement, JAMB will electronically verify candidates’ O’Level results directly with the relevant examination bodies before the results are uploaded to their JAMB profiles.
The initiative initially covers results issued by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
JAMB said the new system was designed to address several challenges associated with the traditional manual upload process, including misplaced or mixed-up paper results, presentation of unverified or fraudulent results, and errors in the manual entry of subjects and grades.
According to the Board, the integration of its e-Facility platform with examination bodies will enable candidates’ results to be checked against records held by the issuing examination bodies before they are downloaded into their JAMB profiles.
How Candidates Can Verify Their O’Level Results
Candidates wishing to use the new service are required to obtain an O’Level Result Verification Code.
The process involves the following steps:
- Visit the designated O’Level result verification platform.
- Enter the candidate’s National Identification Number (NIN) and verify it.
- Select the number of O’Level sittings and the appropriate examination body.
- Provide an active email address and GSM number.
- Make the required payment through the available payment options.
- Enter the examination number, examination series and examination year.
- Verify the result and obtain the Verification Code.
How to Upload the Result From Home
After obtaining the Verification Code, candidates are required to send “VERIFY” followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.
JAMB will process the request and notify the candidate after the result has been uploaded.
Candidates with two O’Level sittings will subsequently be required to log into their JAMB e-Facility profile and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”
They will then enter their Verification Code, after which their verified results will be displayed.
Candidates are expected to select the relevant subjects from the displayed results before clicking “Apply the O’Level Results” to complete the process. The system allows a minimum of five and a maximum of nine subjects to be selected, with no subject selected more than once.
JAMB Explains Importance of New System
JAMB said the innovation would particularly benefit candidates during periods of high patronage at CBT centres, as it would reduce unnecessary physical visits, queues and paperwork.
The Board also said the initiative forms part of the customer-focused service delivery agenda of its sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, with technology being deployed to simplify services for candidates.
The development is expected to make the O’Level upload process more convenient for thousands of candidates currently participating in the 2026/2027 admission exercise.
However, candidates are advised to ensure that their O’Level results are successfully uploaded and reflected on their JAMB profiles, as JAMB requires candidates’ results to be available for admission processing.
