Abuja – Young Nigerians seeking to own laptops, smartphones and other digital devices without paying the full purchase price upfront can now take advantage of a new consumer credit initiative introduced by the Federal Government through the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP).
The initiative, known as the Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Digital Devices (C.L.I.C.K.D.) Programme, is designed to make essential digital tools more accessible through affordable repayment plans, helping young people acquire the devices they need for education, digital skills development, entrepreneurship and remote work.
Launched in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, the programme forms part of the Federal Government’s broader strategy to expand consumer credit, deepen digital inclusion and empower Nigerians with the technology required to thrive in the digital economy.
What Beneficiaries Stand to Gain
Under the scheme, eligible participants will be able to purchase laptops and other approved digital devices through installment payments instead of making full upfront payments. This is expected to reduce the financial burden on students, job seekers, freelancers, software developers, content creators and other young professionals.
The programme is also expected to:
- Increase access to digital learning and professional training.
- Enable more Nigerians to participate in remote work and the global digital economy.
- Support entrepreneurship by providing access to productivity tools.
- Improve digital literacy and workforce readiness.
- Encourage patronage of locally assembled devices, creating jobs and supporting Nigeria’s manufacturing sector.
Who Can Apply?
The first phase of the programme targets beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) initiative, who require laptops and internet-enabled devices to participate effectively in digital skills training.
However, the Federal Government has indicated that the programme will gradually be expanded to accommodate more working Nigerians and other eligible citizens as implementation progresses.

- Select a participating financial institution.
- Submit the required documents for credit assessment.
- Upon approval, receive the approved digital device and commence repayment under the agreed terms.
