Professor Wole Alamu, husband of the abducted Oyo school principal, has revealed that security agencies are actively working behind the scenes to rescue the kidnapped pupils, teachers, and school administrators abducted during the attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Speaking during a telephone interview on Wednesday morning, Professor Alamu appealed to the public and media organisations to avoid comments capable of jeopardising ongoing rescue operations.
“We are going to grant interview, but not now. The work is seriously being done underneath. Anything you say now may jeopardise the rescue operations,” he stated.
The briefing was reportedly given on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, amid heightened anxiety over the fate of the abducted victims.
His wife, Mrs. Folawe Alamu, who is the principal of Community Grammar School, Esiele, was among those kidnapped when gunmen stormed several schools in the Esiele community.
Schools affected in the coordinated attack include Community Grammar School, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota, and L.A. Primary School.
Professor Alamu also commended the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde and security operatives for intensifying coordinated rescue efforts aimed at ensuring the safe return of the victims.
The abduction has continued to generate outrage across Nigeria, especially after disturbing videos surfaced online showing the kidnapped principal pleading for urgent government intervention from captivity.
Meanwhile, fears deepened following reports that one of the abducted teachers, Michael Oyedokun, was allegedly killed by the kidnappers, sparking widespread condemnation and renewed calls for improved security across schools in Oyo State.
