The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has picked a Lagos lawyer, Ladipo Johnson, as his running-mate for the 2023 election.
Mr Johnson was a former governorship candidate of the Alliance National Party, ANP, in Lagos State before joining NNPP.
The party made the announcement through its official Twitter handle @nnpphqabuja1.
“Road to 2023: Bar Ladipo Johnson is the Vice Presidential candidate of our great party,” the party tweeted.
It is however unclear whether Mr Johnson was nominated as a placeholder or substantive vice presidential candidate.
On June 16, the presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, unveiled the governor of Delta State Ifeanyi Okowa as his running-mate.
The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate Bola Tinubu has reportedly submitted Ibrahim Masari as his running-mate, but sources said he would be replaced when INEC opens replacement window.
