Boko Haram terrorists have attacked a military base in Polewire area of Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State, killing 11 soldiers and injuring 19 others.

Three members of a local vigilante group also lost their lives, while two others suffered injuries during the attack.
It’s gathered that the gun duel between the military and the terrorists lasted for 3 and half-hour , between 4:30pm and ended 8pm, three Armoured Personnel Carriers, APC were burnt to ashes after dislodging troops from the location.
Security sources said the location is the major movement route of the terrorists crossing from Niger to Zamfara.
In a situation report sighted by our reporter, the military equipment lost or destroyed include 1 Legion MRAP; 1 Cobra APC; 1 Styer APC; DSHK machine gun; 2 HK 21 guns; 1 GPMG; 14 AK47 rifles; 3 pump action guns; 10 motorcycles, among others.
Although troops were later reinforced from Forward Operating Base in Gwaska at 9:15pm, there is no confirmation of the number of casualties from the terrorists’ side.
