The management of Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife has approved mid-semester break for the students of the institution.
The announcement of the break was contained in an official circular signed by the Registrar, M.I Omosule on Saturday.
According to the circular, the two week-break takes effect from Monday, March 28th, 2022.
The management however didn’t give reason for the break.
OAU is among the few institutions in Nigeria that has polarized academic union following disagreement between local chapter of Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, and the leadership of its National body in 2018 which saw the emergence of Congress of Universities Academics, CONUA.
While ASUU is on 8-week National strike, CONUA is still going on with academic activities.
