The leadership of the Cadet Initiative, Oyo State Command led by Akintunde Abolade on Wednesday honored Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Engr. ‘Seun Fakorede, MNSE, over his impactful strides in the state.

The Cadet Initiative paid a visit to the Commissioner at his office to present a “community ambassador for developmental engagement techniques initiative” award.

The cheering gesture was contained in a release by the media aide to the Commissioner, Kazeem Olalekan Israel.
According to the release Akintunde said, the award is in recognition of the Commissioner’s unrelenting service and commitment to nation-building as a youth ambassador.
Akintunde reiterated the fact that, the Commissioner has, through many of his engagements portray good representation of the youth community as far as governance is concerned.
Reacting to the award, Fakorede thanked the organisation for the recognition and describe it as a drive to do more in fulfilling the terms of his office.
He made it known to the delegation that the Cadet Initiative is an organisation to be proud of though he could not join while at Government College, Ibadan, because of the rigorous exercise it takes to be a member.
While reacting to the Commissioner’s comment, Akintunde Abolade assured the State government that they would always be ready to contribute their quota in any form whenever they are called upon while also informing the Commissioner that a ceremonial programme is being planned in his honour which would be announced shortly.
