Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Others Declared Thursday as 1st of Shawaal

As Muslims across the world are in full anticipation to break their month-long fast,Ramadan, some Islamic countries have declared Thursday as the first day of Shawaal which is also the day of Eid-Ul-fitr because they are unable to sight the moon which uses to mark the beginning and the last days of Islamic lunar months.

A member of Islamic Cresent Observation Project in Nigeria, Simwal, has taken to his social media account to mention the islamic countries that are unable to sight the new moon today. The implication of this development is that, Ramadan will be 30, and Thursday will be declared as the first day of Shawaal.

Among the countries listed are Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, Palestine, and host of others.
